Well it's after Independence day so it's time to fulfill my promise to Patty41 to put a sidewalk in before the Spring season ended.   Since I have to buy a minimum amount of concrete and a minimum amount of sand we decided to also add a small patio.   It seems like I've had a shovel in my hand for weeks.   With the help of Larry59 and AXI66 and Patty41 we finally got all the dirt out of the holes and tamped down.  The sand has been moved in and tamped down.  The forms are built.

Today was supposed to be the day we poured the concrete but the rains came.  The sidewalk sand has washed away some.  The concrete work is now postponed until Monday.  That's probably a good thing.  The little spasms in my back tell me it would not have been a good idea to screed concrete today.
