Jayhawks fall in N.C.A.A. Tournament
It’s a sad day in Jayhawk land. Our beloved K.U. Jayhawks were defeated by the U.C.L.A. Bruins in the elite eight game of the N.C.A.A. tournament in San Jose California. They will not advance to the final four games in Atlanta next weekend. The loss was due primarily to field goal percentages. The Jayhawks seemed to have a lid on the basket as they missed lay up after lay up. They never gave up. They played both offense and defense pretty well. I would even go so far as to say that they out played the Bruins. When the ball doesn’t go into the basket against a quality team however, you are bound to lose. The Hawks are a relatively young team and I am sure they will bounce back next year and do us proud again next year and maybe advance even farther than they have this year. I’m afraid for this year the season ended a week early. What a great year it has been for Jayhawk basketball.
